Supporting Teachers on Site-Based Licensure Plans

UNH College of Professional Studies works closely with school districts statewide and the NH Department of Education to support current and aspiring teachers with a range of degree and certificate programs.

Our new Professional Development Units support teachers currently working on Site-Based Licensing Plans or those seeking professional development.

Content provided through the Professional Development Units fulfills the competencies of several critical shortage areas, including:

  • Special Education Teacher
  • Early Childhood Special Education
  • Mathematics: Middle Level
  • Mathematics: Upper Level
  • Reading & Writing Specialist
  • Reading & Writing Teacher
  • Emotional & Behavioral Disabilities

While these content area tracks were designed especially for teachers working under Intern Authorizations on Site-Based Licensure Plans, these relevant and engaging options can benefit all educators seeking high-quality online professional development.

Affordable

Cost:  $250 per Professional Development Unit

NOTE: Limited scholarship opportunities are available in each content area, which will be awarded on a rolling basis until funds are depleted. The scholarship dollars have been made available through the federally funded Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund, which seeks to provide emergency support post COVID-19 pandemic.

Flexible

Our professional development offerings provide you with the flexibility to complete the four (4) modules in each unit online while balancing the demands of a busy work and personal life.

About the Learning Modules

Each of the learning modules within a unit begins with a summary of the module's key concepts and describes the activities within. Activities range in format from essays, quizzes, notes, meetings with school personnel, and various forms of assessments. Upon completion, you'll earn Credly badges (digital credentials) that can be applied toward professional development for recertification or as part of an approved Site-Based Licensure Plan.

Supportive Professional Learning Community

Examining the learning concepts in the context of a school community provides the opportunity for the content to come to life in practice. Each unit includes collaborative discussions with various members of an on-site Professional Learning Community.
